Office of Sustainability

The Office of Sustainability guides and supports the university in its sustainability commitment by developing strategic goals that prioritize institutional commitment to sustainability, catalyzing our campus community around a shared vision for a sustainable world.

Our core functions are to:

Encourage collaborative effort across our campus, in the community and globally

Create strategic partnerships that combine knowledge, expertise and resources across campus and beyond.

Develop guidelines and policies around the 3E’s of sustainability: ecology, economy and social equity

Foster education and learning

Connect academic programs, research efforts, campus operations, pedagogy and learning outcomes with principles of sustainability.

Communicate with engaged communities

Engage our campus community in ongoing dialogue, inquiry and discovery of more sustainable practices.

Measure and assess progress

Create metrics and mechanisms to evaluate programs to inform strategic direction.
