Southeastern Student Sustainability Conference

This annual conference brings together student EcoReps, sustainability interns, and faculty and staff advisers from around the region for a weekend of peer leadership training and collaboration. In 2020, the conference changed venues and was hosted at Appalachian State University in Boone, NC. The conference was planned by a committee of graduate and undergraduate students, led by staff members of Appalachian State. There were 16 schools represented with over 100 participants. Several students and coordinators shared their knowledge through informative presentations and sessions, along with various networking opportunities. It was an enjoyable and dynamic weekend shared by all.

Students presented on a variety of topics, including campus gardens, renewable energy “green fees”, and turning sustainability degrees into careers.
