The Office of Sustainability has various ways to get involved for students, faculty/staff, and community members.

Carbon Neutral Commuter Program

The CNC Program, which began in the 2014-15 academic year, lets members of the Appalachian State community who drive and park on campus to offset the carbon they produce with a small additional fee to their parking pass.

GreenApps: EcoReps

Each residence hall has a sustainability focused liaison between the office and their residence hall peers.

Sustainability Ambassadors

The Office of Sustainability employs student interns who serve as peer educators to the campus community, bringing the concepts of sustainable living to their lives. These interns staff the “Zero Waste Zones” at Mountaineer football games, assist in green events efforts, and spend time connecting with other students and the campus community via tabling and special events.
