Sustainability Leaders

Sustainability Ambassadors: The Office of Sustainability employs students who serve as peer educators to the campus community, bringing the concepts of sustainable living to their lives. Core functions of this group include:

  • Assist in green events efforts
  • Planning and participating in special events
  • Outreach and communication
  • Zero Waste Stadium initiative for Mountaineer football

Eco-Reps: The Office of Sustainability has a liaison from each campus residence hall who brings the message of sustainable living to campus. These reps work with the Office of Sustainability and University Housing. Responsibilities include:

  • Attend regular training and development programs
  • Encourage sustainable practices and sustainable living in your community
  • Assist with planning and execution of green/educational events
  • Promote sustainable clubs, events and programs on campus and in the community
  • Promote the Green Appal residence hall certification program
