Open House at the Sustainable Development Civic Garden (beside the LLC)

Join students and faculty in the Sustainable Development Civic Garden (beside the LLC) on Wed May 3 from 2-4 pm to learn about spring vegetables and outreach and teaching in campus gardens.  Students from SD agroecology classes will offer tours of the garden and show beds of spring crops, such as lettuce, radish, arugula. etc. that they raised.

Learn about vegetable, fruit, herb, and grain production, greenhouse and solar food dehydration, compost, mushrooms, vermicomposting, and components of ecological food production (outdoor student presentations).

Help the students harvest the produce for donation to the campus Food Bank.

Learn about campus gardens and how they can be used for teaching and outreach on campus.  Network with garden faculty and students with new ideas.

Hot coffee, cookies, and seed sprouting jars will be for sale to support the garden; herbal teas from student projects also for sale.
