IPCC’s Urgent Call for Action: What’s our urgent, local response?
The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) just released a report stating that if we do not implement "rapid, far-reaching and unprecedented changes in all aspects of society," we are heading toward climate catastrophe. It calls for urgent actions at every level. This call is highlighted by major media outlets (such as BBC, NY Times, and CNN), and universities around the world are responding quickly to this urgent call for action.
Join us for an open brainstorming session that responds to this urgent call with concrete, local actions. The mission of Appalachian State University centers on sustainability and justice, thus it is our responsibility to act quickly and meaningfully to address this tremendous challenge.
